MALUKU ENERGI TO EXPLOIT GAS FROM MARSELA BLOCK
Ambon, Oct 27 (ANTARA) - PT. Maluku Energi in association with Japanese oil company PT. Impeks will conduct natural oil and gas exploitations in the Marsela block on the border region between West Southeast Maluku and Southwest Maluku districts.
"PT. Maluku Energi has a shareholding of 10 percent, and 90 percent is controlled by Impeks," president director of PT Maluku Energi Semuel Samson said here Tuesday.
He said the Japanese company has secured a green light from the Indonesian government to manage the oil and gas in the Marsela block on a commercial basis.
He said staring next month, preceding the exploitation the two companies along with the provincial administration and the centrla government, will discuss the relevant environmental impact analysis.
Hopefully, he added, the result will serve the interest of the local population.
