Jewish extremists launch campaign to divide the blessed Al Aqsa
Amman, October 27, SPA -- In the latest Israeli aggression and assaults towards the vicinity of the Blessed Mosque of Al Aqsa, Jewish extremist militants backed by the Israeli Occupation overnment , have launched a wide-ranging campaign aims at securing the place in the plazas of the Blessed Mosque of Al Aqsa for carrying out Jewish religious rituals.
They have also tried to separate courtyards of al-Aqsa Mosque and the affiliated
thatched-buildings, namely the actual building of the Blessed Mosque of Al Aqsa as
well as the Dome of the Rock Mosque, a report published in Amman stated today.
Sheikh Azzam Khatib, director of Al Quds Waqf, said in a statement today that the
"Al Quds Waqf establishment seriously consider the gravity of what is now
underway. "There is an unprecedented escalation in the tone of the Israeli policy
towards the mosque. There is also prevalance of the blatant extremism as the number
of radical Jewish incursions into the mosque have hiked. Additionally, the Israeli
occupation police which used to prevent Jewish extremists from storming of the
Blessed Mosque of Al Aqsa in the past on certain occasions, have drastically
changed their stance as they now openly facilitate these Jewish profanations of the
Mosque".
Sheikh al-Khatib said, "We consider the entire area of 144 dunums of Al Aqsa
surroundings as indivisible parts of the Waqf including all erected domes as well
as affiliated squares and open areas of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
"We fully condemn the Israeli consideration of Al Aqsa Squares as public spaces and
reject such baseless stereotyping and distorting allegations".
In a related acceleration, the Israeli occupation forces launched a spree of
arrests which began yesterday and continue today encompassing a large number of
young men and boys, many of the old town neighborhoods and districts adjacent to
the walls under the pretext of participating in the incidents of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Palestinian news agency "WAFA" quoted correspondent in Al Quds as saying that
this campaign began after midnight and lasted until the early morning hours of the
day. The young detainees were taken to the detention center in west of Al Quds.
