SECURITY OF YEMEN CONSIDERED MAIN CHALLENGE FOR MARKETING TOURISM IN EUROPE




MILAN, Italy Oct. 28 (Saba)-Security issues and low tourism promotion for Yemen in Europe were main challenges facing the process of marketing for tourism in Yemen, European tourism agents for Yemen said on Wednesday.
In their remarks to Saba, the agents wished further European support for efforts of the Yemeni government to enhance security and stability as well as persevering
its unity.

They also highlighted the Yemeni historical heritage and tourist sites, saying that the security warnings prevent the European tourists to visit Yemen.

They urged Yemeni official concerned bodies to double their efforts in field of tourism promotion in Yemen and its tourist products in European cities.
Role of the Yemeni ministry of tourism to do such campaigns was not enough and needs for further cooperation of security and diplomatic bodies in the country, the agents said.

Meanwhile, Yemen ambassador to Italy Shaya Zindani affirmed the importance of enhancing coordination between the two Yemeni Ministries of Foreign Affairs
and Tourism to promote tourism sector in the country.

The ambassador's statement came on the sideline of Yemen's second tourism promotion campaign in Europe.

The campaign was organized by the Tourism ministry, the Tourism Promotion Board and the Italian Interview Firm for Public elations.

Many activities including folklore dances and artist events took place in the Temporary Shop Hall in Milan that were attended by chairman of the Tourism
Promotion Board Ahmed al-Bail and interested Italians.

A photo gallery of Yemen was opened at the hall including photographs picked from around Yemen. The campaign was launched on 18th October to promote Yemen tourism in London, Paris, Milan and Frankfort.

The first campaign was launched in November 2007.
