No meaning to resume talks with Pak till 26/11 accused given to India: BJP
PM-BJP
New Delhi, Oct 28 (PTI) The Prime Minister's offer to
resume talks with Pakistan has "no meaning" till the
perpetrators of the Mumbai attacks were handed over, the
opposition party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said Wednesday.
"Any dialogue with Pakistan has no meaning till the
perpetrators of the 26/11 attacks are handed over to India,"
BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar told reporters here.
He was asked about his party's reaction on the Indian
Prime Minister's statement in Anantnag (in India's
northernmost state of Jammu and Kashmir) Wednesday.
He also said the Indian government was merely paying
"lip service to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and not doing
anything practical on the ground."
He said the Uttar Pradesh government could not carry
forward the dialogue initiated by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee
government with Pakistan and Hurriyat. "They could not take it
to a conclusion when it was both possible and necessary,"
Javadekar said.
The BJP MP (Member of Parliament) claimed the "olive
branch" extended to separatists now had little value "as
things have worsened".
When asked whether things have worsened 'beyond
limits', the BJP spokesperson said "in a way, yes".
He claimed that separatist leaders visited Pakistan
without a visa but did not talk to the Indian government. "Now
China is issuing visas on a separate paper (to people of the
state)" he said. PTI NAB
