S. Korea to hold investor meetings in UAE next week

SEOUL, Oct. 29 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's government said Thursday that it will
hold investor relations meetings in the United Arab Emirates earlier next week as
part of efforts to promote the nation to possible investors in the oil-rich
country.
According to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, the IR meetings will be held
in Dubai and Abu Dhabi on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, with individual and
institutional investors from the two regions on hand.
The meetings are part of the government's efforts to intensify economic
cooperation with oil-rich Middle East nations which are enjoying profits from
rising crude oil prices.
They are also intended to explain the Seoul government's recent efforts to
bolster issuance of Islamic bonds by Korean companies, a move aimed at
capitalizing on oil dollars.
Meanwhile, the ministry said that it plans to sign cooperation deals with Abu
Dhabi and Qatar under which they will promise to increase personnel exchange and
share experiences on economic growth.
