Speculation over berths in Khandu ministry in Arunachal

Itanagar, Oct 31 (PTI) With the expansion of Dorjee
Khandu ministry in India's northeastern state of Arunachal
Pradesh scheduled for Monday, the names of ministers to be
sworn in is still not clear.
According to party sources, Congress is facing a
"problem of plenty" having won 42 seats in the 60-member
house.
Khandu, who took oath on October 25, can give
ministerial berths to a maximum of 11 MLAs (Members of
Legislative Assembly) under the law as the size of the
ministry cannot not go beyond 12.
The Chief Minister returned here Friday from Indian
national capital New Delhi with a list of MLAs approved by
Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi to be inducted in the
ministry.
Such is the secrecy that a senior minister of the
outgoing ministry, known to be very close to Khandu, Saturday
enquired from media persons if they were aware of the
composition of the new ministry.
The Speaker and deputy Speaker would be elected on
November 3. PTI
