Two held for planting bomb at Sancoale sent to police custody

Panaji, Oct 31 (PTI) Two accused arrested in India's
coastal state of Goa for allegedly planting explosives on
Diwali eve in Sancoale, were remanded to 13 days police
custody by a local court here Saturday, police said.
Vinayak Patil (30) and Vinay Talekar (27), both arrested
by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) early Saturday, were
produced before judicial magistrate first class, Vasco.
The court remanded them in 13 days police custody.
The bomb blast at Margao on Diwali eve had killed two
persons -- Malgonda Patil and Yogesh Naik -- owing allegiance
to Sanatan Sanstha.
Another Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was defused at
Sancoale, 30 km away from state capital Panaji after Margaon
blast.
The driver of the pick up van who noticed a bag with
clock ticking in his vehicle had alerted the bomb disposal
squad, which later defused the IED.
Police confirmed that both the accused were arrested in
connection with the explosives defused at Sancoale, which were
planted in series to the Margao blast.
Patil and Talekar, originally hailing from Belgaum and
Karwar town (of southern sttae of Karnataka) respectively,
were settled in Ponda city of Goa. MORE PTI
