The BARCIT will be mainly for technologies developed by
BARC in the non-power sector and other spin-offs, Patankar
said.
He said the idea of setting BARCIT was to create a close
interaction between scientists and technologists with the
industry and also develop manpower to carry on with these
technologies on a sustainable basis.
In the field of water, the BARCIT will develop community
filters, direct water filters, membranes so that they would be
cost effective and efficient.
In the biotechnolgy field, BARCIT will deal with
technologies including those for fruit juice extraction,
