68 Million tonnes handled during first half of 2009 Riyadh 2
In term of Total Container Volume in TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) it shows a
minor decline of 7.21 per cent of 2,120,201 tons compared to 2,273,167 tons of
last year statistics.
The Transshipment Containers (in TEU) also declined by 20.95 percent amounting to
597, 079 containers compared to 755,350 containers in 2008.
The total number of passengers through Jeddah Islamic port; Yanbu Commercial Port
and Dhiba Port amounted to 419,914 passengers in the first half of 2009, showing a
decline of 8.61 percent compared to 456, 050 passengers in the same period of 2008.
