HOUSE SPEAKER WANTS ALL MENTIONED IN RECORDING INVESTIGATED
Jakarta, Nov 3 (ANTARA) - House Speaker Marzuki Alie has asked for the investigation of all the people mentioned in the wiretapped recording heard at a Constitutional Court (MK) session on Tuesday.
"By making it transparent people will know and will not become confused with regard to the case," he said to newsmen at the parliament building here on Tuesday.
Marzuki said law enforcers must be transparent in giving information to the public on dealing with the case of suspended antigraft commissioners Chandra M Hamzah and Bibit Samad Ryanto.
Law enforcers, he said, must work professionally and those who are really guilty including police members must be dealt with.
Marzuki said those mentioned in the recording must be investigated to clarify the case.
"It would be better for those people to be summoned for investigation," he said.
Among those mentioned in the recording are vice attorney general Abdul Hakim Ritonga, former deputy attorney general for intelligence Wisnu Subroto, national police's chief intelligence Commissioner General Susno Duadji and former national police's deputy chief intelligence Inspector General Hadiatmoko.
Marzuki admitted he did not know details of the content of the recording.
He said what was the problem now was so many people had been involved in the case and he did not know what it all meant.
"I did not either know what the main problem is," he said.
With regard to the Bibit-Chandra case the house speaker called for correct appliation of all evidence and articles.
He said confessions alone were not enough without evidence. With regard to the Bibit-Chandra case the House of Representatives did not consider the articles used correct.
Bibit and Chandra have been named suspects and later detained by the police for allegedly having abused power and conducted extortion.
In connection with efforts to unveil the case which is linked to corruption involving businessmen being investigated by the antigraft body KPK, the MK on Tuesday held a session to hear the wiretapped recording made by KPK connected to it.***
