ANTIGRAFT BODY HANDS TRANSCRIPTS TO CONSTITUTIONAL COURT
Jakarta, Nov 3 (ANTARA) - Acting chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean submitted nine compact discs and nine bundles of transcripts of wiretapped recordings to the Constitutional Court (MK) on Tuesday.
Tumpak handed over the documents to MK chairman Mahfud MD at a session on a judicial review of the law on KPK.
"We handed over nine files of transcripts and a compact disc for evidence in line with the court's order," Tumpak said.
Tumpak admitted that the KPK leaders including him, Mas Ahmad Santosa, Harjono Umar, Waluyo and M Jasin did not know the voices in the recorded conversations and the transcripts of the recordings of the voices suspected to be those of businessman Anggodo Widjojo and a number of law enforcement officials.
Mahfud MD received the documents in a big yellow envelope with a seal from Tumpak as acting KPK chairman.
Tumpak said based on confessions from the staff that had wiretapped the voice of Anggodo, the recordings lasted four hours and 30 minutes carrying voices from Anggodo speaking with Wisnu Subroto, Bonaran Situmeang, police investigators, YG and Kosasih.
Tumpak said the nine documents submitted to the court included among others the ones on Anggoro's case with PT Masaro on Integrated Radio Communications System, regarding the flow of funds to Ari Muladi, request for assistance to a prosecutor, the mentioning of the President's name and a request for LPSK assistance.
Mahfud MD said the documents and the recordings would be used as evidence and considerations to make a ruling.
MK has ordered the KPK to submit the wiretapped recordings of conversations between Anggoro and a number of officials linked to the declaration of suspended KPK chairmen Bibit Samad Ryanto and Chandra M Hamzah as suspects in power abuse and extortion cases.***
