AGO READY TO ACCEPT FACT-FINDING TEAM`S RECOMMENDATION
Jakarta Nov 3 (ANTARA) - The Attorney General's Office is ready to accept any recommendation of the Fact-Finding Team on the case of two suspended Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputies Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra Hamzah.
"If the fact-finding team provides a recommendation, of course we will take a follow-up action. so, it would be how far if the team's recommendation on the results of its verification," Attorney General Hendarman Supandji said.
The attorney general said the team would on Thursday (Nov. 5), summon Junior Attorney General Abdul Hakim Ritonga after a wiretapped recording heard at the session of the Constitutional Court (MK) on Tuesday.
The wiretapped recordings contained conversations on alleged attempt to frame through bribery attempt the KPK leaders.
"On Thursday, the Ritonga will be summoned by the fact-finding team. It would depend on the team when the hearing would be held, whether on Thursday or on Friday, I will be ready and I have prepared prosecutors," Hendarman said.
He said that suspension of officials at the AGO could not yet be made because it was still at clarification stage by the fact-finding team.
"I have yet to suspend, as it is still in clarification stage. but his does not mean that it is not necessary. It would be seen later," he said.
On Tuesday, MK heard a wiretapped recording of conversations between Anggodo Widjojo and several parties which was allegedly an effort to bribe, frame and undermine the KPK leaders.
Bibit and Chandra have been named suspects and later detained by the police for allegedly having abused power and conducted extortion.
In connection with efforts to unveil the case which is linked to corruption involving businessmen being investigated by the antigraft body KPK, the MK on Tuesday held a session to hear the wiretapped recording made by KPK connected to it. ***
