OKINAWA PREFECTURE TRAINED 412 INDONESIAN YOUTHS
Sanur, Bali, Indonesia, Nov 3 (ANTARA) - Deputy Governor of Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, Katsuko Asato has said that the autonomous regions which he headed since 1998 until now had trained 412 Indonesian youths in maritime management.
"We are very honored to have the opportunity to share our knowledge. This year 18 Indonesian young men were studying in Okinawa," he said, at the 13th reception of Tourism Policy Forum of Inter-Island, at Sanur Beach hotel, Sanur, Bali, on Tuesday night.
According to Katsuko, Okinawa which is located nearly 1,000 miles from the Japanese Islands, is relying on its life since thousands of years ago from the sea surrounding the island prefecture.
Thus, it is understandable if they had mastered the marine management. Okinawa prefecture is also known as one of the prefectures in Japan that has the highest life expectancy in the country.
Katsuko was in Bali with four colleagues to garner the cooperation of marine-based tourism from five countries.
Apart from Bali governor Mangku Pastika's presence owing to the cooperation agreement at a two-day meeting in the Island of gods, four other figures who attended the meeting namely Vice Governor of Hainan, Jiang Sixian, Governor of the South Provincde of Sri Lanka, Neranjala Pushpa Kumari Balasuriya, Deputy Governor of Autonomous Province of Jaeju, South Korea, Yang Jo Hoon, and Deputy Governor of the Province Okinama, Japan, Katsuko Asato.
The number of tourists from Japan, along with Taiwan, South Korea, and China to Bali since the last two years increased. ***
