POLICE WAITING FOR TPF'S FINDINGS REGARDING SUSNO

Jakarta, Nov 4 (ANTARA) - The police are still waiting for the results of the investigation by the fact finding team (TPF) with regard to the case of their chief detective, Susno Duaji, Inspector General Nanan Soekarno said.

The head of the national police's public relations division said at the National Police Headquarters on Wednesday, National Police Chief General Bambang Hendarso Danuri had said the police would take a stance with regard to Susno's case only after the TPF had finished its investigation.

Nanan said until now Susno remained active as head of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) and there had not been any announcement about his dismissal after his name was mentioned several times in the recording of wiretapped conversations between businessman Anggodo Widjojo and several law enforcement officials heard at the Constitutional Court on Tuesday.

"There is still no certainty on the matter," Nanan said.

In the recording heard at the Constitutional Court Anggodo was heard mentioning the name of Commissioner General Susno Duadji in connection with the alleged engineering behind the naming of antigraft body officials Bibit Samad Ryanto and Chandra M Hamzah as suspects in abuse of authority and bribery cases.

In the recording, the names of several police investigators dealing with the Bibit-Chandra case, namely Inspector General Dikdik Mulyana Arif (deputy chief detective), Senior Commissioner Benny (third vice director for corruption crimes), Gupuh and Parman, were mentioned.

Nanan said General Bambang Hendarso Danuri had already submitted the names of the investigators mentioned in the recording to the TPF formed by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

"The TPF has asked for information to clarify the names of the investigators mentioned in the recording," he said.***4***
