Seoul stocks open weaker on massive sell-offs

SEOUL, Nov. 5 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks got off to a weak start Thursday,
weighed down by heavy sell-offs among overseas and institutional investors,
analysts said.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) dropped 10.82 points, or
0.68 percent, to trade at 1,569.11 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
Large-cap electronics and shipbuilders led the market fall with most sectors
trading in negative terrain.
The local currency was trading at 1,175.3 won to the U.S. dollar as of 9:15
a.m., up 3.1 won from Wednesday's close.
