SEOUL, Nov. 6 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks traded 1.02 percent higher late
Friday morning, bolstered by bullish U.S. markets and bargain-hunting, analysts
said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 15.81 points to
trade at 1,568.05 as of 11:20 a.m.
Foreign investors hunted for bargains after Wall Street shares finished sharply
higher on Thursday on stronger economic data and corporate earnings results.
Blue-chip stocks gathered ground across the board with steelmakers heading the
gain.
The local currency was trading at 1,173.5 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20
a.m., up 6.3 won from Thursday's close.
