Nepal PM, Home Secy Pillai discuss security issues

Kathmandu, Nov 6 (PTI) Security issues and other matters
of mutual concern came up for discussion when Home Secretary
of India G K Pillai called on Prime Minister Madhav Kumar
Nepal here on Friday.
Pillai, who is in Kathmandu for the two-day bilateral
security meeting with his Nepalese counterpart Govinda Kusum,
met Premier Nepal and Home Minister Bhim Rawal.
During his talks with the two Nepalese leaders, matters
of mutual concern and security issues were discussed, the
Prime Minister's Press Adviser Vishnu Rijal said.
Earlier in the day, Pillai and Kusum launched their
crucial talks during which an extradition treaty is expected
to be signed.
The two sides are also likely to formulate a border
security and management strategy apart from discussing
real-time exchange of information on Maoists and coordination
among border districts to tackle drugs and fake currency
smugglers, official sources said.
Besides, a pact on Mutual Legal Assistance is expected
to be concluded during the meeting. PTI SBP
