FRENCH TOURIST ARRIVALS IN BALI UP SIGNIFICANTLY

Denpasar, Bali, Nov. 7 (ANTARA) - The number of French tourist arrivals in Bali went up by 73,167 or 39.98 percent from January to August 2009 from that in the same period in 2008.

France was among the top 10 countries contributing to Bali's tourist dollar earnings, Ida Komang Wisnu, head of the Bali provincial Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), said here on Saturday.

The European country was on the seventh rank after Australia, Japan, China, Malaysia, South Korea and Taiwan.

France accounted for about 4.76 percent of the total number of foreign tourists visiting Bali (1,538,048) during the January-August period in 2009, he said.
