REAL WAR AGAINST REBELS JUST STARTED TWO DAYS AGO, SAYS PRESIDENT



SANA'A, Nov. 07 (Saba)-President Ali Abdullah Saleh said on Saturday
the real war against rebels just was started two days ago.

In his speech on occasion of dispatching first shipment of Yemen
liquefied natural gas project YLNG, president Saleh said no
dialogue with rebels and fighting would be continued "to the end".

He also highlighted important of the project for the national
economy of the country, saying that such projects need security,
safety and stability.

The first shipment left the export terminal at Belhaf for South
Korea aboard a Korean tanker, carrying around 149,000 cubic metres
of LNG.

President Saleh added that an industrial zone would be set up near
from Belhaf region.

The $ 5 billion LNG project would create 10,000 jobs, president
said, it is a second gas project at level of Arab region.

For his part, the director of Yemen LNG said that the company would
export gas from now to Korea, Mexico, and United States and in 2010
to China and might be Europe would be new destination for the
company to export gas to. He praised efforts of the government to
bring the project into success.

Yemen LNG has committed 100 percent of the guaranteed plant capacity
under three 20-year LNG sales agreements which includes GDF Suez,
Total Gas and Power and Korea Gas Corp (KOGAS).

Construction of the plant started in October 2005. The owners
include French oil and gas firm Total with a 39.6 percent stake,
U.S. firm Hunt Oil with a 17.2 percent share and Yemen Gas Co with a
16.7 percent stake.
