Niger's President lauds Saudi Assistance 2 Riyadh




As regards the Saudi-Nigerien relations, President Tandja Mamadou described the
relations between the Republic of Niger and Saudi Arabia as 'solid, strong,
deep-rooted and historic'.

In the sphere of investment, President Mamadou Tandja stressed the importance of
investing in his country, especially by businessmen in reclaiming agricultural
lands for various agricultural crops as sign of Saudi support for the people of
Niger.

In this context, he mentioned a draft project, which was prepared and presented by
the Saudi Fund for Development SFD. On its implementation, the project will
strategically help Niger to overcome food deficit situation it faces nowadays.

He also pointed out that Saudi Arabia's contribution for financing a number of
landmarks projects including Kandadji dam.

In the cultural sphere, the President said that King Faisal Islamic Center as well
as Prince Sultan Cultural Center are very significant Islamic landmarks in Niger
and play effective roles for the benefit of Nigerien people.
