UPON PRESIDENT'S DIRECTIONS, PROSECUTION RELEASES 315 PRISONERS



SANA'A, Nov. 08 (Saba)- General Prosecution, based on the
president's directions, released on Sunday 315 prisoners held in
prisons across the country. The prisoners were sentenced to
imprisonment terms and paying private and public rights.

They finished the imprisonment terms but could not pay the funds,
which are private and public rights they had to pay. These funds
have reached YR 155, 3 million, paid from the state's budget.

General Prosecutor Abdullah Al-Ulofi told Saba the decision of the
release comes after field visits to all prisons across the country
and making sure that the prisoners have to pay private and public
rights, but could not do so though they finished imprisonment terms.

He added that those who have to pay blood money, compensation for
injuries and other private rights have been given priorities.

Al-Ulofi indicated that 228 prisoners have been also released last
August. They have been in custody over paying private and public
rights. The rights which amounted to YR 127 million have been paid
by philanthropist.The Prisoners expressed their happiness for the
decision, thanking the president and affirmed their commitment to
law and system.
