President Saleh meets WB official
SANA'A, Nov. 08 (Saba) - President Ali Abdullah
Saleh received on Sunday the World Bank Vice President for Middle East and North
Africa region,
Shamshad Akhta currently visiting Yemen.
During their meeting, Saleh and Akhta discussed the cooperation relations between
Yemen and the WB and the projects financed by the bank in Yemen.
They also reviewed means of increasing the development and technical support
provided by the WB to Yemen in addition to supporting Yemen's efforts in economic
reforms.
The WB official hailed the cooperation ties between with Yemen, affirming the
bank's readiness to promote the cooperation aspects in accordance with the
development needs
priorities in the country.
She also congratulated Yemen on the inauguration of the export of the first
shipment of the liquefied natural gas project to abroad, noting that this
economical project
would contribute to promoting Yemen's development process.
For his part, the President praised the WB support for the development in the country.
Saleh also affirmed his country's keenness to promote that cooperation, looking
forward to continuing the WB's support to Yemen's development efforts and helping
it in facing
the current challenges.
