French special envoy arrives in Pyongyang
SEOUL, Nov. 9 (Yonhap) -- A special envoy for French President Nicolas Sarkozy on
North Korea arrived in Pyongyang on Monday, the North's media said, in a visit
reportedly aimed at exploring ways of improving relations with the communist
state.
Jack Lang and his entourage arrived by plane, said the Korean Central News
Agency. It gave no other details.
France is one of the few countries in the European Union that does not have
diplomatic ties with North Korea.
Lang visited South Korea and Japan last month and said France was seeking ways of
contributing to ways of resolving the dispute over the North's nuclear weapons
program. Lang is expected to leave the North on Tuesday.
