Besides, Infosys has also said it is eyeing acquisitions
worth USD 50-200 million in areas where the company has a
small presence.
"The acquisitions will be funded through cash in areas we
have a small presence," Infosys BPO CEO Amitabh Chaudhry had
said.
Last year, HCL Technologies had acquired four companies,
including one in the telecom sector, and plans to do the same
in the coming months.
"Our acquisition strategy, going forward, is going to be
the same. Wherever we see that gap, whether it is healthcare
or lifesciences... (those acquisitions) will help us deliver
the business," Nayar said.
He said companies are still on cost cutting mode, while
vendors want to retain margins, and in this scenario HCLT sees
a big opportunity that can open many more doors for business.
The company offers integrated portfolio of services,
including software-led IT solutions, engineering and research
and development services and BPO.
Genpact separately said it was looking for possible
purchases in finance and accounting, supply chain, health
care, analytics and captives, but declined to comment on the
size and timeframe of the deal.
"We are not only looking in India but scouting for
acquisitions in the US, China and Europe. But, if pricing goes
up, it can be affected," Bhasin said. PTI TEAM
