Japan grants Yemen over YR 16 mln for health unit in IBB
SANA'A, Nov. 11 (Saba) -
The government of Japan has decided to extend a grant amounting to YR 16,340,950 for
a project
of constructing health unit in Ba'adan district of Ibb governorate.
A press release issued by the Japanese embassy in Sana'a said that the grant will
be used for constructing a health unit in al-Harth sub-district, Ba'adan, Ibb
governorate,
which will provide basic health services for up to 20,000 beneficiaries.
The press release showed that the Japanese government has provided, during the last
Japanese fiscal year April 2008 - March 2009, grants for sixteen local entities and
NGOs
in the country with a total amount of more than $ 1.2 million.
The new grant and the previous ones aim to under the scheme called "Grant
Assistance for Grass-root Human Security Projects", which aims at supporting
small-scale community-based
projects in basic human need field, such as primary health care, basic education and
drinking water supply in the developing countries.
