Sterlite was the biggest Sensex gainer at 6.50 per cent,
Jaiprakash Associates was next best at 6.27 per cent. Rel
Infra at 5.31 per cent, Tata Motors at 4.68 per cent, Tata
Steel at 4.28 per cent were the other prominent blue-chip
stocks which gained.

Dealers said IT stocks rose sharply despite weakness in
dollar. Nasscom estimate that the sector would regain double
digit growth in the next fiscal boosted the sentiment.
The market breadth was strong as 1,726 counters recorded
gains while 1,004 others finish with losses on the BSE.
The trading volume improved further to Rs 5,999.87 crore
as compared to Rs 5,972.60 crore on Tuesday. Educom Solutions
was the most active share with highest turnover of Rs 264.62
