Jakarta, Nov 11 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono left here on Wednesday for a five-day overseas tour that will take him to neighboring Malaysia for bilateral talks and Singapore to attend an APEC summit and meet his US counterpart.

The president and his entourage departed from Halim Perdanaksumua airport aboard a Garuda Indonesia presidential plane at 10.30 local time, and were scheduled to arrive at the Kuala Lumpur International airport at 13.40 local time.

Earlier, presidential spokesman Dino Patti Djalal had said the president was scheduled to meet the Malaysian King, Yang Dipertuan Agong XIII, and attend a state dinner hosted by Prime Minister Najib Razak on November 11, 2009.

On November 12, Yudhoyono would meet Prime Minister Najib for bilateral discussions, and later in the day, head to Singapore.

The president and his entourage were scheduled to leave Malaysia for Singapore on November 12 at 14.00 local time, and arrive in Singapore at 15.00 local time.

During his visit in Singapore, the president would attend the APEC Summit and a meeting between US President Barack Obama and the leaders of Southeast Asian countries.

At the two summits, President Yudhoyono would convey his point of view on several matters of regional and global concern.

"At the APEC Summit, the president will present his point of view on `balanced growth` and also review the targets of the Bogor Declaration, a document adopted at the 1996 APEC meeting in Bogor, Indonesia," he said.

On November 15, the Indonesian head of state was scheduled to have a meeting with US President Barack Obama on the forging of a strategic bilateral partnership in several sectors, Djalal said.

"The meeting was requested by President Obama himself," said Djalal moments before enplaning as a member of Yudhoyono`s entourage at Halim Perdana Kusuma airport.

The Indonesian president was scheduled to be back in Jakarta on November 16, 2009 at 09.40 local time.
