But some regents in West Kalimantan province wished to show the potentials of their respective regions to the Chinese guests in person.

Some of the potentials in the province include aloes, mining, plantations, farming and fishery.

Christiandy Sanjaya said further that the Chinese guests did not ask any questions about the political and security situation. Apparently because most outsiders thought these conditions prevailed only in Jakarta, and in other big cities in Java.

With regard to the plan to build sugar mills in West Kalimantan, he said the local authorities were still considering the licensing of such enterprises, and whether or not a permit would be necessary from the governor, he said.
