By Tony Chang
SEOUL, Nov. 13 (Yonhap) -- South Korea will send two ruling party lawmakers as
special presidential envoys to Poland and Norway to celebrate landmark
anniversaries in bilateral diplomatic relations and discuss ways to increase
mutual cooperation, the Foreign Ministry said Friday.

Reps. Chang Yoon-seok and Kang Seung-kyoo of the Grand National Party (GNP) will
visit Poland from Nov. 15-17 to pay a courtesy call on President Lech Kaczynski
and meet with Foreign Minister Radoslaw Silkorski and other senior Polish
officials. The two lawmakers will seek enhanced cooperation in economics, trade
and other areas, the ministry said.
They will later travel to Norway from Nov. 17-19 to meet with Prime Minister Jens
Stoltenberg, Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store and Per Kristian Foss, deputy
parliamentary speaker, it said.
South Korea celebrates the 20th and 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties with
Poland and Norway, respectively, this year.
The envoys will later make a stop in Istanbul from Nov. 19-20 to meet with
officials from South Korean businesses operating in Turkey before returning to
Seoul on Nov. 21.
