S. Korean teenager leaps from apt window after taking Tamiflu

SEOUL, Nov. 14 (Yonhap) -- A South Korean teenager jumped from his family's
sixth-floor apartment window after taking the anti-viral drug Tamiflu, the
country's drug safety watchdog said Saturday.
According to the Korea Food & Drug Administration (KFDA), the 14-year-old student
leaped from the apartment on October 30 after taking the drug that same day. He
suffered only minor fractures on his leg and arms.
The student later told his family that he experienced hallucinations after taking
the drug, according to the administration.
"It is the first that hallucinations have been reported as a side effect of the
medicine," said an official at the KFDA. "We are going to figure out if there are
any links between the drug and the case."
Local authorities have so far received reports of such adverse reactions to the
drug as nausea and vomiting.
