MICE PROGRAM TO BOOST JAPANESE TOURIST FLOW TO BALI

Denpasar, Indonesia, Nov 14 (ANTARA) - The 'Japan MICE FATA TRIP' program is expected to increase the flow of Japanese tourists to the Indonesian tourist resort island of Bali, a tourist operator said.

"Under the program, about 20 leaders of big companies in Japan have been encouraging Japanese people to visit Bali under 'meeting, incentive, conference and exhibition (MICE) packages," Jro Gede Karang T Suarshana, director of PT Suartur travel bureau, said here on Saturday.

He said the program named "MICE FATA TRIP" had run from November 9 to 12, 2009.

Suarshana said that the Japan MICE FAT TRIP which was supported by various sides was expected to increase the number of foreign tourists arriving in Bali.

He said that the program had been organized in cooperation with tour operators in Japan.

"In June-July this year, I offered MICE tourism packages to Japan and it gained positive support from a number of big companies in that country," he said.***
