Four dead, three missing after fishing boat, freighter collide
SEOGWIPO, South Korea, Nov. 15 (Yonhap) -- Four fishermen died and three went
missing after their boat collided with a freighter near waters off the southern
island of Jeju, maritime authorities said Sunday.
The 29-ton fishing boat collided with the 3,836-ton Hong Kong-registered cargo
ship late Saturday night some 139km off the shore of Jeju Island, according to
investigators.
Four of the nine crew on the fishing boat were found dead, and maritime
authorities were still searching for the missing three. Two, including the ship's
captain, were immediately rescued by the freighter's crew.
