MALAYSIAN TOURISTS TO BALI UP 13 PCT

Denpasar, Bali, Nov 15 (ANTARA) - A total of 101,077 Malaysian tourists visited Bali in the first nine months of 2009, up 13.49 percent from the same period a year earlier.

The figure made Malaysia the fourth biggest source of foreign tourists to Bali over the period, the head of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS)'s office in Bali, Ida Komang Wisnu, said here on Sunday.

He said the Malaysian tourists accounted for 5.75 percent of 1,756,491 tourists visiting Bali in the January-September 2009 period.

Most of the Malaysian tourists visited Bali via Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar, he said.

The number of Malaysian tourists visiting Bali showed an upward trend in recent years thanks to stable security condition and close cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia, he said.
