UNHCR TO ESTABLISH NEW DISPLACED CAMP IN AMRAN



SANA'A, Nov. 15 (Saba) - The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) will establish a new displaced camp in Amran governorate.

Assistant of UNHCR Janet Lim said that the UNHCR would register the displaced people estimated at 175,000 in several camps in Sa'ada, Amran, Jawf and Hajjah governorates.

She commends the government efforts to present humanitarian services for the displaced people from Saada governorate.

The Yemeni government's has made good efforts in providing shelters and services for the displaced people through setting up an operation room and coordination efforts with the UN agencies and other organizations to present relief aid, Lim said.

She said that UNHCR will continue supporting Yemen, adding that the Commission will call on the international community to assist the Yemeni government in provide more assistance for the displaced people.

UNHCR will keep on supporting the government's efforts in providing safe water and sanitation services and improving the displaced people's living conditions.
