Sri Lanka captain, manager deny raising security concerns

Ahmedabad, Nov 15 (PTI) Sri Lankan cricket captain Kumar
Sangakkara and manager Brendon Kuruppu Sunday denied reports
that the team raised security concerns after landing in
India.

"This is the first time I have heard of it. I don’t know
anything. No idea there has been any correspondence (between
team manager Brendon Kuruppu and the Cricket Board or with the
Mumbai Police Commissioner)," Sangakkara told reporters here
Sunday ahead of the first Test against India starting Monday.
Sangakkara, who expressed satisfaction over the security
arrangements soon after the team landed in Mumbai on November
8, reiterated that it was "pretty good."
"Security is pretty good. What we understand about
security is nothing is 100 per cent. Indian authorities are
very competent and have the experience. We see the security at
the hotel (where the team is staying here) and it's very
good," he said.
Kuruppu also denied having corresponded to the Mumbai
Police Commissioner or to the BCCI on security.
"I have not written to the Police Commissioner or to the
Indian cricket Board regarding security lapses or anything,"
he said in response to a query. More PTI SSR
