Explain transfer of Malegaon case to CBI: HC tells Mah govt

Mumbai, Nov 16 (PTI) The Bombay High Court Monday
directed the government of India's western state of
Maharashtra to explain why the investigations of September
2006 Malegaon blast was transferred to Central Bureau of
Investigation (CBI).
The state government should file an affidavit
regarding this within two weeks, the Court said.
The High Court said that the reason for transfer of
investigations after the chargesheet was filed are needed to
be examined.
The court's order came after a petition was filed by
three accused in the case seeking a probe into the manner in
which the investigations were conducted. PTI
