RF, US to jointly help Afghanistan's economic reconstruction-FM.

MOSCOW, November 17 (Itar-Tass) - Russia and the United States will
boost practical cooperation in helping Afghanistan's economic
reconstruction and in strengthening the Afghan army and police, Russian
Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko said on Tuesday.

The diplomat reiterated that US Special Envoy for Afghanistan and
Pakistan Richard Holbrooke visited Moscow on November 15-17.
"The current situation in Afghanistan after the presidential election
as well as prospects for stronger coordination of Russian-U.S. diplomatic
efforts on the Afghan track in compliance with the presidents' agreements
were high on the agenda," the diplomat said.
"Russia and the U.S. will boost practical cooperation in resolving
pressing tasks of assistance to Kabul as concerns economic reconstruction
and the strengthening of the potential of Afghanistan's national army and
police," he said.
