Higher Education Minister Signs SR 1.9 Billion Contract for University Medical City Project in Abha
Riyadh, November 17, SPA -- The Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Anqari signed today a contract of Medical City Project at the Abha-based King Khalid University at a cost of SR 1.9 billion.
In a statement following the signing ceremony, Dr. Al-Anqari pointed out that the
project includes the university hospital with 400 beds; faculties of medicine,
medical science, pharmacy, dentistry; classrooms; and laboratories.
He noted that this project is an extension to the previous contracts signed by the
Ministry, adding that the first stage of University City Project at King Khalid
University is being currently executed at a cost exceeding SR 2.2 billion in
addition to contracts worth more than SR 6.5 billion for the first stage of housing
faculty members in Saudi universities under the Ministry's plan to finance the
program for housing projects for faculty members in all Saudi universities.
Dr. Anqari expressed his gratitude and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two
Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy
Premier for supporting higher education.
