Exhibition Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan held in Ashgabat.

ASHGABAT, November 17 (Itar-Tass) - More than 160 companies from 28
world countries are taking part in an exhibition "Oil and Gas of
Turkmenistan- 2009" that opened in Ashgabat on Tuesday.

Russia, Germany
and China sent the biggest delegations to the exhibition, which indicates
the present and future priority directions of gas export routes from
Turkmenistan.
The German RWE Concern, that signed an agreement with Turkmenistan on
the use of the Turkmen Caspian terminal on a product-sharing basis,
presented a central composition at the exhibition. The RWE-developed
deposits are to produce gas for Nabucco project that envisages supply of
Asian gas to Europe. The Russian Zarubezhneft joint stock company, that
will also develop a deposit on the Turkmen Caspian shelf as a Turkmen
partner, has its exposition next to the German RWE.
The Russian Gazprom and LUKOIL companies, the Arab-British Dragon
Oil, Malaysian Petronas and the Chinese National Oil and Gas Corporation -
the only foreign company that develops a land gas deposit in Turkmenistan,
are traditional participants in the Ashgabat oil and gas exhibition. More
than half participants in the Turkmen exhibition are Turkmenistan's
potential partners who are attending a special seminar on different
aspects of legislation and taxation in the Turkmen oil business.
On Wednesday, a conference titled "Development of the oil and gas
industry in Turkmenistan and international cooperation in the epoch of new
revival" will open in Ashgabat. This year this biggest international
annual forum has drawn around 400 participants who represent some 160 oil
and gas companies and organizations from more than 40 world countries.
