IDB announces plan to fund education projects in Yemen

SANA'A, Nov.17 (Saba) - with Head of Education Department at the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Abdulrahman Badi affirmed on Tuesday that the bank has a plan to support projects in sectors of technical
education and vocational training, girl education, and literacy in Yemen.

The meeting of Sana'a Governor Nu'aman Dowaid discussed with the IDB's official
discussed aspects of the bank's support in sectors of vocational education, girl
education
and literacy in Sana'a province.
In the meeting, Dowaid reviewed the fields can be supported by IDB in the province
particularly in fields of small industries ,holding handicraft courses and
presenting
loans for developing industries of building stones and other food industries.
For his part, the IDB's official reviewed the bank's plan to support these areas
during the coming period as well as the aspects of coordination with the province
to succeed
the projects executed by the bank, voicing the bank's readiness to support those
projects and include them within its future plans.
The IDB finances sectors of technical education and vocational training, girl
education, and literacy with $20 million in provinces of Sana'a, Hodeidah and Lahj
during the
coming period.
It is worthy to mention that sum of $22 million was also allocated by IDB in the
meeting minutes singed between the bank and Yemeni government on Monday to
contribute to
fund the economic opportunities draft and the professional literacy project in Yemen.
