IIROSA continues to oversee Pediatrics Open-Heart surgeries in Morocco
Jeddah, November 11, SPA -- The International Islamic Relief Organization of Saudi
Arabia (IIROSA) - the aid arm of the Saudi-based World Muslim League, in
cooperation with Prince Sultan Heart center, Riyadh; Ibn Attufail University
Hospital, Marrakech; Ibn Rushd University Hospital, Casablanca, continued to this
morning to oversee pediatric open heart surgeries in Casablanca and Marrakech,
Morocco. These surgeries were conducted with the participation of a number of Saudi
pediatric-cardiac surgeons.
Dr. Jameel Al-Ata, MD ,Consultant Pediatric Cardiologist, King Abdul Aziz
University Hospital, King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah, and the Saudi
voluntary medical team leader said in a press statement to SPA that 20 pediatric
open-heart surgeries were conducted so far since the beginning of the campaign
funded entirely IIROSA in addition to additional 15 cardiac catheterization for a
number of poor children in Ibn Rushd University Hospital, Casablanca.
Dr. Abdluraouf Al Saeedi, Cardiac Consultant at Prince Sultan Heart Center said the
voluntary medical team is divided into two specials teams, The first is conducting
open-heart surgeries at Ibn Attufail University Hospital, Marrakech and the
interventional catheterization team is engaged in its mission at Ibn Rushd
University Hospital, Casablanca.
Dr. Abdurrahman Al Rudhayan, Pediatric Cardiac Diseases at Prince Sultan Heart
Center said the voluntary medical team comprised of 14 members including
consultants, Surgeons, Anesthetists as well as multiple assistants.
On his part, Dr Al Deressi Bo Mazabrah, Head of Cardiac surgery Center, at Ibn
Attufail Hospital said in statement to SPA that all of the children belong to poor
families who could not bear the expenses of these operations , and these patients
are with cardiac-malfunctions. They are enrolled at the Ibn Rushd Hospital as
urgent cases and needed urgent surgeries.
