Britain's top marine in S. Korea to tour bases

SEOUL, Nov. 19 (Yonhap) -- Britain's top marine is in South Korea to tour marine bases here and boost ties between the armed forces of the two countries, the marine command here said Thursday.

Maj. Gen. Andrew Salmon, who commands the Royal Marines, arrived here on Tuesday
and has been visiting two marine divisions and the marine headquarters in South
Korea, the command said in a statement.
Salmon, who will fly back home Saturday, "visited South Korea as part of goodwill
exchanges between the marine forces of the two nations after South Korea's top
marine commander visited Britain a year ago," the command said.
