Yemen Seeks Deal for Mareb Refinery Expansion

SANA'A, Nov. 19 (Saba) - The Yemeni
Petroleum Refining Company has started negotiations with a number of foreign
companies in
an attempt to reach a deal for financing the expansion of Mareb Refinery. With the
negotiations about to come to an end, an agreement is expected in the next days,
executive
director of the company Mused Al-Sabari has said. All studies over the expansion
project have been prepared and under the expansion plans, the refinery capacity will
raise
from 10.000
barrels to 25.000 barrels a day, he said. Petrochemical industries will also be
affected by the expansion at a time when the company seeks to attract investments in
an effort
to contribute to boosting the national economy, Al-Sabari said, adding it has also
been working on industries based on oil and gas such cleaners and fertilizers. FR
