AG'S VIEW ON TEAM'S RECOMMENDATIONS PRESENTED TO PRESIDENT SATURDAY

Jakarta, Nov 19 (ANTARA) - Attorney General Hendarman Supandji said his office would present the result of its study of the Team of 8's recommendations to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Saturday.

"Our view on the recommendations is already being formulated. On Saturday, I will present it to the president. I certainly cannot leak it. Later, after the President has received my letter, it will be made known to the public by the President himself on Monday," he said after attending a plenary cabinet meeting.

In a limited cabinet meeting at the presidential office on Wednesday to discuss recommendations from the Team of 8, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono ordered the national police chief and the attorney general to study the recommendations.

President Yudhoyono had given the two officials several days to do the study and report the results to him.

After receiving the results of their studies President Yudhoyono would announce the government's response and the actions to be taken in light of the recommendations.

President Yudhoyono had ordered the Team of 8' formation to verify the legal facts and processes in the controversial case of antigraft officials Bibit Samad Rianto and Chandra M Hamzah.

In its initial conclusion made known last week the team said that the police did not have enough evidence to pursue their bribery or extortion charges against the two anti-graft commissioners.
