TAIWANESE TOURISTS ARRIVING IN BALI REACH OVER 91,000



Denpasar, Bali, Nov 21 (ANTARA) - The number of Taiwanese tourists arriving in the Indonesian tourist resort province of Bali in the past nine months reached 91,775, a statistics official said.

"The number of Taiwanese tourists to Bali in the January-September 2009 period is down 13.03 percent from 105,527 in the same period a year earlier," Head of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) for Bali Ida Komang Wisnu said here on Saturday.

He said that although the number of Taiwanese tourist arrivals declined in the past nine months, they remained one of the big ten of foreign tourists coming to Bali this year.

Taiwan ranked sixth on the list of the big ten after
Australia, Japan, China and South Korea, contributing 5.22 percent of the total number of 1.756.491 foreign tourists visiting Bali over the past nine months.
