N. Korea proposes inter-Korean talks over tourist death at Mt. Kumgang

(ATTN: to be led)
SEOUL, Nov. 22 (Yonhap) -- North Korea has proposed that the two Koreas hold
talks on a visit to the Mount Kumgang resort by South Korean officials to probe
the shooting death of a South Korean tourist there, an informed source said
Sunday.
Ri Jong-hyuk, vice chairman of the Korean Asia-Pacific Peace Committee in charge
of inter-Korean relations, made the proposal to Hyun Jeong-eun, chairwoman of
South Korea's Hyundai Group, last week Wednesday.
Hyun was visiting to mark the 11th anniversary of the mountain tour program on
the North's east coast, which is now suspended.
