Seoul shares open higher on foreign buying
SEOUL, Nov. 23 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks started higher Monday as foreign
investors picked up tech and financial shares, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) advanced 7.42 points, or
0.46 percent, to a four-week high of 1,628.02 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
Foreign investors extended their buying streak for a fifth day, snapping up 9.5
billion won (US$ 8.18 million) worth of shares.
The local currency was trading at 1,160.40 won to the greenback as of 9:15 a.m.,
down 1.40 won from Friday's close.
