+
FUKUOKA, Nov. 23 Kyodo -
The body of the eighth Japanese victim in a recent fatal fire at an indoor
shooting range in the South Korean city of Busan was brought back to Japan on
Monday on a ferry, arriving at the Port of Hakata, Fukuoka Prefecture, with his
family members.
Kazunobu Nakao, 37, died Sunday morning at a hospital in Busan where he had
been in intensive care in a coma with some 90 percent of his body burned in the
Nov. 14 fire.
Nakao, a tourist from Unzen, Nagasaki Prefecture, was initially thought to have
died in the blaze, which swept through the shooting range, but was found later
to have survived and been hospitalized.
He was a part of a nine-member group of former schoolmates from Unzen who were
visiting the South Korean city.
In the fire, 12 were killed and four injured. Eight of the dead were Japanese,
including Nakao, and five from the schoolmates group.
Three remaining members of the group are still receiving medical care in Busan
along with a South Korean national.
