N. Korea, China hold defense ministers' talks

SEOUL, Nov. 24 (Yonhap) -- North Korea's top military official met with his
visiting Chinese counterpart in Pyongyang Tuesday to exchange views on issues of
mutual concern, the North's official news agency said.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Kim Yong-chun, minister of the
People's Armed Forces and vice chairman of the National Defense Commission, held
a meeting with China's defense minister, Liang Guanglie.
"The two sides exchanged opinions on ways of promoting the traditional friendship
between their armies and a range of issues of common interest," the KCNA
reported, without giving details.
The Chinese defense minister arrived Sunday in North Korea on the first leg of
his three-nation tour that continues in Japan and Thailand until Dec. 5.
China, North Korea's major ally, fought on North Korea's side against South Korea
and the U.S.-led Allied Forces during the 1950-53 war.
