All of these facilities including Medeo, the Ice Palace, the ski jump and Shymbulak will stay in Almaty to serve for the good of Almaty residents.

Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan:
- It is all about fresh mountain air, white snow, speed and adrenaline. All of these give us health. One should go in for sports and go to the mountains often to breath in clean mountain air. Our homeland has everything including mountains and valleys. We also like skiing and other kinds of sport which are necessary for people as they enrich them culturally. It is the health of our citizens.
